Earthquake Webquest

Breaking News: Students Studying Seismology Surmise Summaries in Story

You are going to report on an earthquake in very distinct manners. The first thing you need to do is to create a location for your earthquake to take place (it can be made up if you want). Then you need to write one paragraph or more describing what you saw and experienced and the extent of the damage. Then you will write a paragraph or more on describing what happened scientifically using questions 1, 2, 3, 4, and 10 to create this paragraph. Please use words such as tectonic plates, crust, mantle, fault, Richter Scale, magnitude, and epicenter.

Correct answers on the webquest will be worth 7 points each, and the newspaper story will be worth 30, 10 of which will be for an accurate description and the other 20 for using all 7 vocab words correctly.

A picture that goes with your story will be worth 1 puzzle piece per person.
